I love hot chocolate, and especially love one with a bit of a spicy “kick” to it, so when I saw this at Whole Food, I decided to grab it. The package promises “Just add milk or water”, and in a way, that’s true. But I also found that, no matter how hard I tried whisking, I couldn’t get the chocolate power to dissolve well in hot water — numerous lumps were remaining at the bottom of the pot. The instructions say “Whisk or blend until smooth”, and blending likely works much better. I had to resort to using a sports-drink shaker to get rid of the lumps. Having done that, the resulting drink was, as promised, “decadent” and “rich”, with a bit of spice to add piquant interest. So if you don’t mind the extra step of either using a shaker or blending, this makes a very nice drink.
